Victron EasySolar 24/1600/40
A comprehensive solution for an island or hybrid solar system . Solar panels with a power of up to 1400 Wp , a battery, a generator or a distribution network, and appliances can be connected to the unit to obtain a professional 1-phase hybrid/island system.
EasySolar helps to achieve a higher level of energy independence from the grid. It combines an inverter/charger, a solar MPPT controller and AC power distribution including protection into one compact device. It is easy to install, space-saving and minimizes the necessary wiring. It sophisticatedly and automatically prioritizes the use of produced solar energy and minimizes consumption from the grid. It is designed to supply single-phase appliances with AC 230 V.
Basic information
Area of application
A comprehensive multifunctional solution for family houses, holiday homes, cottages, etc. The system increases your energy independence with your own generated electricity and supplies energy to appliances even in the event of power outages in the standard distribution network.
Comprehensive description
EasySolar works as a central unit. Photovoltaic panels - a source of solar energy, batteries for energy storage, a grid connection as a backup source and appliances are connected directly to it. Everything is simple without the need to open anything and complicated assembly or adjustment. The operation and overall functioning are governed by an internal sophisticated logic.

This is a compact two-in-one device combining an inverter/charger (MultiPlus) and a solar MPPT controller . The inverter/charger takes the generated energy directly from the solar system and/or the energy stored in the battery, converts it to alternating current and supplies the connected 230 V AC appliances . In the most urgent cases (see below), it also uses energy from the distribution network (or another source, such as a generator). The solar MPPT controller maximizes the amount of energy generated from the photovoltaic panels, transfers the energy to the inverter/charger to power the appliances and stores the excess energy in the battery for future use during times of lack of solar energy (for example at night).
Example of complex connection:

Guiding principle How EasySolar works
EasySolar produces electricity from the sun, uses it directly to power standard 230V appliances or, in case of surplus, can store it in a battery for later use. In necessary cases, it can also use energy from the distribution network, on which it is not functionally dependent. It gives maximum priority to the use of its own produced solar energy over energy from the distribution network. The consumption of energy from the distribution network is minimized to the most necessary amount, and only in the following cases:
With or without grid power supply
If a power grid is available, EasySolar can, depending on the settings, either supply or not supply excess energy back to the distribution grid.
Sophisticated software
There are several versions of software for the integrated inverter/charger, which can be used for different purposes and settings. The manufacturer uses the 100 series software as standard, in which EasySolar behaves like a simple UPS - if the grid is available, it uses it to the full extent and does not prioritize the solar energy produced. For the sophisticated operation described above, i.e. maximum use of solar energy and minimizing grid consumption, the original software is replaced in EasySolar with a special version of the 300 series with the HUB-1 function.
EasySolar integration
In standard family houses, there is a three-phase connection. The individual phases are brought into the main switchboard and selected single-phase appliances or circuits are connected to each phase. EasySolar is simply inserted into one selected phase before entering the main switchboard. In the main switchboard, selected appliances that we want to supply primarily with solar energy are then connected to the given backup circuit. After increasing the power capacity, more EasySolars can be connected in parallel. The device is designed as single-phase, but if necessary, it is possible to create a three-phase system from three separate units.
Performance characteristics and features
EasySolar is able to power appliances exclusively from the solar system and/or battery without the need to use the grid up to a total consumption of approximately 1300 W. It is therefore recommended to connect appliances to EasySolar that normally consume a maximum of 1300 W in total and only exceptionally and for a limited time, even more.
If the appliance's consumption is still higher than 1300 W and the grid is available at the same time, EasySolar will start using grid energy to prevent overloading. In this state, it tries to take maximum energy from the battery and the minimum currently needed energy from the grid. The grid connection is smooth without interruption.interruption of power supply to appliances. When the overload disappears, the grid is automatically disconnected and energy is again drawn only from the battery. Disconnection from the grid is smooth without interrupting the power supply to the appliances. This is a unique Grid Assist function. If the grid is not available at higher consumption than 1300 W, a non-destructive overload of the EasySolar inverter may occur, interrupting the power supply to the appliances. In an overload state, EasySolar tries to automatically restore power to the appliances. If the overload persists, the EasySolar inverter goes into a permanent fault state (but the battery charging by the solar system continues to work independently of the inverter). Unblocking and resetting to the standard state is done by simply manually turning it off and on on the EasySolar front panel.
The maximum total consumption of the appliance must not exceed 5000 W. If this happens, either the EasySolar inverter will be overloaded (consumption from the battery) and the device will report a fault and/or one of the AC circuit breakers on the input or output of the EasySolar will trip. Connecting to the grid when the inverter is overloaded (consumption by the appliance above 1300 W, but up to a total consumption of 5000 W) is done very quickly (within 1 s). There is no risk of interruption of the power supply.
Easy connection
The entire device is easy to install in a plug-and-play style. A great advantage of EasySolar is the internal cable connection of the inverter/charger and the solar MPPT controller to a common battery in combination with fuses. This makes the installation easier and faster. All main connections are made in the lower part of EasySolar without the need to open it:

Advantages of the DC system
EasySolar cannot be functionally combined with standard grid-connected power plants equipped with grid inverters. EasySolar has the advantage that the entire battery charging process is carried out in DC voltage (PV panels - MPPT solar controller - battery). At the same time, EasySolar uses the solar energy just produced to directly power the connected appliances by converting it from DC voltage to AC. The energy just produced is thus directly used by the appliances without having to be stored in the battery first. This further reduces energy losses and battery wear. In contrast to other systems with grid inverters, there are no unnecessary losses in converting energy to AC and back to DC (battery). The system therefore does not lose energy unnecessarily by transforming it.
