Victron Quattro 48 V (10000 VA) The Quattro is a sophisticated AC-DC battery charger and DC-AC inverter with two AC inputs, a pure sine wave output voltage and an ultra-fast switch between the grid (generator) and batteries. Similar to the MultiPlus, the Quattro is also a combined device that includes an inverter and a charger. In addition, it can accept two AC inputs and automatically connects to an active source. Its functions include a voltage converter (pure sine wave), adaptive charging, PowerAssist hybrid technology and multiple functions for system integration, such as three-phase or split-phase power and parallel operation. The multifunctional Quattro inverter/charger is a powerful DC-AC inverter with a pure sine wave output voltage, a sophisticated adaptive battery charger and an ultra-fast bypass loop switch. The inverter is housed in an aluminum compact housing. Two AC inputs The Quattro is equipped with two independent AC inputs (the main difference compared to the MultiPlus series) as mains and generator or two generators. The device is able to automatically connect to the source that is currently available when needed. Two AC outputs The Quattro is equipped with two AC outputs as standard. The main output is equipped with a function that ensures uninterrupted power supply. The Quattro takes over the power supply to the connected appliances in the event of a mains or generator failure. This happens so quickly (less than 20 ms) that computers and other electronic devices will continue to function without interruption. The second output is only energized when AC is available at one of the Quattro inputs. Loads that would quickly drain the batteries, such as a water heater, air conditioner, electric oven, can be connected to this output. Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel operation Up to 6 Quattro units can operate in parallel to achieve higher power. Six Quattro 48/10000/140 units provide up to 54 kW (60 kVA) of output power with a battery charging capacity of up to 840 A. Three-phase operation Three units of the same model can be combined into a three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 10 three-phase sets (30 units in total) can be connected in parallel to provide an output power of up to 270 kW (300 kVA) with a battery charging capacity of up to 4,000 A. PowerControl - AC source overload limitation The Quattro is a very powerful battery charger. It is capable of drawing a large amount of current from the generator or the mains (up to 16 A for each 48/5000/70 unit operating at 230 V AC side). A maximum power draw limit can be set on each AC input to prevent overloading of the AC source. Unique PowerAssist features Take the PowerControl function to the next level. It prevents overloading of the power-limited alternating current (AC) power source. If the power source should become overloaded, the battery charging current is automatically reduced first. Second, the output power of the connected generator or local power supply (e.g. current-limited electrical connection) is boosted by the power drawn from the batteries. Solar energy: Alternating current (AC) power is available even in the event of a mains power failure. The Quattro can be used advantageously in off-grid systems with solar panels or other alternative energy sources. Setting up the system has never been easier! Immediately after installation, the device is ready to perform its function. If the settings need to be changed, this can be done very easily with the built-in DIP switches in a matter of minutes. Even parallel connection is possibleThe unit can be configured using DIP switches, no computer is required! Alternatively, the settings can be made using the VE.net control panel or sophisticated software (VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.bus System Configurator), which offers further advanced settings options. Four-stage adaptive charger with two battery charging outputs The main output provides powerful battery charging via the "adaptive charging" system. The software controls the three-stage automatic charging process to suit the condition and type of battery, and adds a fourth stage of trickle charging. In addition, the Quattro allows a second auxiliary battery to be charged using an independent charging output, e.g. for a generator starter battery (12 and 24 V models only). The PC communication interface MK2-USB is used to set the parameters and to display the current status of the unit.
