Planet GS-5220-16S8C is a full Gigabit 24-port switch. It has 24 ports for SFP modules: These modules can be both Gigabit and 100Mbps. It is also equipped with 8 shared RJ-45 ports with auto-sensing 10/100/1000Mbps.
It offers advanced functions "L2-routing", "Port link aggregation", "Q-in-Q VLAN", "private VLAN", "Rapid Spanning Tree protocol", "bandwidth control", "IGMP Snooping". It is possible to create and manage up to 255 VLAN groups. For "trunk" connections, it is possible to create up to 12 groups of 8 ports for each group. The switch has traffic filtering based on IP addresses and other TCP/IP parameters.
The switch can be managed using IPv4 and IPv6 protocols simultaneously, SNMPv3 and securely on an encrypted SSL/SSH layer. The functions include suitable for integration in data centers or for connection and secure operation of end users, it is possible to control traffic based on QoS, filter and authorize access via ACL (Access Control List), physically activate ports based on authentication on a RADIUS server using the IEEE 802.1x protocol.
Shared SFP (Small Factor Pluggable) slots can be populated with any mini-GBIC compatible with 1000Base-SX/LX, WDM SFP, and 100Base-FX.
