Intelligent switches for industrial Ethernet are designed for harsh operating conditions with wide operating temperature ranges, unstable power supply, and frequent shocks. They also provide excellent multi-connectivity capabilities to achieve robust system connectivity with very low recovery times.
It is equipped with a redundancy method using the Spanning Tree protocol (whose recovery time is in the order of seconds and fractions of seconds). L3 routing is supported for up to 32 rules and 8 VLAN interfaces.
In addition to the well-known Spanning Tree method (whose recovery time is in the order of seconds), the IGS-5225-4T2S is equipped with a specialized ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) function for redundancy, which has a recovery time and new path finding time of up to 10 ms.
IGS series switches enable the deployment of well-known Ethernet technology in industrial environments. They are also suitable for installations in outdoor cabinets with large fluctuations in operating temperatures (typically wireless and MAN ISP applications).
Their great advantage is the extended mean time between failures (MTBF)!
