Victron BP-65, battery protection, 12V/24V-65A

Victron BP-65 BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from unimportant loads before the battery is completely discharged (which would destroy it) or until it still has enough capacity to start the engine. Automatic setting 12 / 24 V BatteryProtect automatically detects the voltage in the system. The easily programmable BatteryProtect can be set to connect / disconnect at several different voltage levels. The 7-segment display shows which setting has been selected. Special settings for Li-ion batteries In this mode, BatteryProtect can be controlled via the VE.Bus BMS. Note: BatteryProtect can also be used to interrupt charging in the event of high charging voltage. See wiring diagram in the manual. Very low power consumption Low power consumption is very important for Li-ion batteries, especially after low voltage shutdown. Overvoltage protection In the event of an overvoltage resulting in possible damage to sensitive devices, the devices will be disconnected if the DC voltage exceeds 16 V or 32 V. Spark-proof Does not work with relay elements, but with MOSFET transistor switches, therefore there is no sparking. Delayed alarm output The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage drops below the set value for more than 12 seconds. Starting the engine therefore does not activate the alarm. The alarm output is a normally open connection to the negative supply (ground), the output is short-circuit proof, the maximum current is 50 mA. The alarm output is typically connected to a buzzer or to a light signal. Delayed load disconnection and delayed reconnection The load is disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm has been triggered. If the battery voltage rises to the “connection threshold” level during this time (e.g. during engine starting), the load will not be disconnected. The load is reconnected 30 seconds after the battery voltage rises above the preset reconnect voltage.
