One of the biggest advantages of this switch is its support for IEEE 802.3at/bt PoE on each port (4x PoE++ and 12x PoE+) to power multiple devices. By default, the UniFi Switch automatically detects 802.3at/bt on a connected device so that the device can automatically receive PoE. The device also features Etherlighting ports that indicate port location, speed/link, and native VLAN/network (for optimal brightness, use UniFi Etherlighting cables).

UniFi devices can be configured and managed using the UniFi Network application, which is pre-installed on UniFi OS consoles (UniFi Dream Machine, Dream Router, Dream Wall, Express, Cloud Gateway Ultra, etc.). Alternatively, the freely available UniFi Network Server software is available for installation on your own computer or server (Windows, MacOS, Linux). The UniFi Network Server software is constantly being improved, so we recommend always using the latest version, which you can download from the Ubiquiti website in the Download section.
