The powerful LRE (Long Reach Ethernet) converter from Ethernet to VDSL2 (Very-high-data-rate Digital Subscriber Line 2) allows data to be transmitted over a symmetrical pair of wires at speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s over 300 m or 50/2 Mbps over distances of up to 1.4 km. The device is universal as a master (CO) / slave (CPE) unit, mode setting via a switch. The unit supports VDSL2 operating modes 17a, 30a and also "band Plan997" affecting symmetrical data transmission at higher speeds.
With the help of an external splitter, voice service can be maintained on the telephone line without further wiring modifications, data traffic is simply associated with the existing voice traffic. This allows the use of telephone cable lines originally intended for connections not only to subscribers but also between analog exchanges.
This allows the ISP (internet service provider) to offer multimedia services, VOD (video on demand), VoIP (voice over IP), Video phone, IPTV, etc. The router can be successfully operated over O2's VDSL lines.
This product is not compatible with the PLANET VC-201A converter.
