Ubiquiti NanoStation M5
NanoStation (NSM5) is a powerful complete outdoor unit including 2x 16 dBi antennas (MIMO) for the 5 GHz band. The unit allows communication at speeds up to 150 Mbps.
Another advantage, in addition to the high transmission speed thanks to the 802.11n standard, is the use of TDMA time division multiplexing, which allows more than 300 clients to be connected to the unit in AP mode and low latency.
Compared to its predecessor, the NanoStation5, it has a more powerful processor clocked at 400 MHz and more memory.
The web administration is very simple and clear. You can set, for example:
- AP, client or WDS mode
- traffic shaping
- Quality of Service
- between WAN and LAN transparent bridge or routing, without NAT or with NAT
- the signal strength that a specific signaling LED should correspond to
- output power up to 27 dBi
In bridge and WDS mode, the device supports IPv6 transmissions transparently.
The package also includes a 24V/0.5A PoE injector .
Another advantage is PoE support on the second Ethernet port for direct powering of a second device. This feature can also be disabled in software.
The package includes installation tapes that are exposed to mechanical stress. We recommend replacing the tapes with new ones every 2 years. This will prevent possible damage to the device.

The airOS system is constantly being improved, so we recommend always using the latest version, which you can download from the Ubiquiti website in the Downloads section. At the same time, it is necessary to operate the device in accordance with the General Authorization for the 5 GHz band, use the DFS function and avoid using frequencies used by weather radars, i.e. 5630 and 5645 MHz.
