PLANET GT-1205A

Compact converter for Gigabit Ethernet networks for easy transition between metallic and optical lines. It offers two 100/1000Base-X SFP ports for connection to an optical network or for connecting end devices and one 10/100/1000Base-T (RJ-45) port for connection to a metallic network. The converter can be installed in the MC-700, MC-1500, MC-1500R chassis.

The GT-1205A can be configured to support 100BASE-FX or 1000BASE-X SFP modules via a built-in DIP switch on the rear panel. Using PLANET MFB/MGB series SFP modules, the GT-1205A can be connected to optical lines up to 2 km using multimode fiber or up to 120 km using singlemode or WDM fiber.

Through the built-in DIP switch on the side, the GT-1205A can be configured as a 3-port Ethernet switch or a 2-port redundant media converter. In switch mode, the GT-1205A can operate with high performance thanks to the Store-and-Forward mechanism. Conversely, in converter mode, it provides redundant connectivity for critical Ethernet applications and supports auto-recovery function. In case of signal failure on the primary port, it will switch to the backup port.
