Victron Pb battery AGM Super Cycle 12 V/230 Ah
Backup 12 V (230 Ah) lead-acid battery in AGM design suitable for applications where frequent and deep discharge/cycling occurs.
It is a design in which the internal pressure is regulated by valves (VRLA - Valve Regulated Lead Acid). The advantages of this VRLA/AGM design are mainly the following:

AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) technology:
Although the battery contains electrolyte in a liquid state, it is "soaked" in fiberglass microfibers , or so-called glass wool, and is thus firmly bound in the interior of the battery cells ( its leakage is practically eliminated ).
The Super Cycle battery is suitable for smaller battery systems where more frequent deep discharges are required. AGM Super Cycle are the result of the latest developments in battery electrochemistry. The positive plate paste is less susceptible to softening, even in the case of repeated 100% discharge of the battery. New electrolyte additives reduce sulfation in the case of deep discharge.
Exceptional performance at 100% depth of discharge (DoD)
Tests have shown that Super Cycle batteries can withstand at least 300 cycles at 100% DoD discharge.
The tests consist of a daily discharge to 10.8 V with I = 0.2 C 20 , followed by approximately 2 hours of rest in a discharged state and then a recharge with I = 0.2 C 20 .
2 hours in a completely discharged state will damage most batteries within 100 cycles, but not a Super Cycle battery.
We recommend the Super Cycle battery for applications where occasional discharge to 100% DoD or frequent discharge to 60-80% DoD is expected.
Smaller and lighter
Another advantage of the new chemistry is a slightly smaller size and lighter weight compared to standard deep cycle AGM batteries.
When connecting batteries in series, it is necessary to use a battery balancer to ensure even charging and longer battery life.
Victron Energy gel batteries are designed for smaller battery and photovoltaic applications of the Off-Grid type (island applications), for example for powering cottages and other objects outside the reach of the electrical grid with seasonal operation.
Cyclic life

≥ 700 cycles @ 60% DoD (3-hour discharge with I = 0.2 C 20 , immediately followed by recharge at I = 0.2 C 20 )

DoD or DOD - Depth of Discharge is a percentage expression of the amount of energy that has been removed from a fully charged battery.
