You can even control the charger's functions using the VictronConnect app. The default voltage and current value is displayed on the screen. Regeneration A lead acid battery that has already been undercharged or left discharged for several days or weeks will deteriorate due to sulfation. If detected early, sulfation can sometimes be partially reversed by charging at a low current until the battery reaches a higher voltage. Recovery function for completely discharged batteries Most reverse polarity protected chargers will not recognize batteries that have been discharged to zero or near zero voltage and will therefore not start charging them. However, the Blue Power Charger will attempt to recharge even a completely discharged battery at a low current, restoring normal charging as soon as sufficient voltage is present at the battery terminals. Ultra-high efficiency “green” battery charger With an efficiency of up to 94%, these chargers produce up to 4x less heat than the industry standard. When the battery is fully charged, power consumption is reduced to 0.5W, which is 5x to 10x better than the standard. Long life, safety and quiet operation Low thermal load on electronic components. Protection against dust, water and chemicals. Overheating protection: the output current will decrease with increasing temperature up to 60°C, but the charger will not fail. The chargers are completely silent: they do not contain an active heat sink (fan) or other moving parts. Storage mode: less corrosion of the positive electrodes Even the lower trickle charge voltage that follows the absorption phase can cause grid corrosion. It is therefore essential to continue to reduce the charging voltage if the battery remains connected to the charger for more than 48 hours. Temperature-compensated charging The optimal charging voltage for a lead-acid battery varies inversely to its temperature. The Blue Power IP65 Charger measures the ambient temperature during the test phase and compensates for it during charging. The temperature is measured again when the charger is in low current mode during maintenance or storage. Therefore, there is no need for special settings for cold or hot environments. Charging mode for Li-ion batteries The Blue Power Charger uses a special charging algorithm with automatic reset of the undervoltage protection of Li-ion batteries (for Li-ion (LiFePO4) batteries). Normal charging voltage mode 14.4 V - suitable for gel and AGM batteries. High charging voltage mode 14.7 V - suitable for open flooded batteries.
