Gigabit miniGBIC conversion module in Small-Form-Pluggable (SFP) format. Standard 1000Base-LX, IEEE82.3z. Simplex LC connector, for single-mode fibers. Can also be used for multimode fibers, but with a range of up to 1km. Allows bidirectional communication over a single optical fiber. Expands/converts ports of switches and converters with a position for miniGBIC (SFP).
It is equipped with a Digital Monitoring Interface (DMI), and switches and converters equipped with support for this feature are able to diagnose the optical signal amplitude and other operating parameters of this interface.
For connection between WDM modules, it is necessary to combine the TX/RX wavelengths of the counterpart sides, pairs of modules are distinguished by a code representing side A or B.
