Conversion Gigabit miniGBIC module in Small-Form-Pluggable (SFP) format. Standard 1000Base-LX, IEEE82.3z. Simplex SC connector, for single-mode fibers. Enables bidirectional communication over a single optical fiber.
The module uses wavelengths of 1310 and 1490nm, which allows its combination even in systems with CATV which usually operates at a wavelength of 1550nm.
Recommended range 10 km.
Note: The counterpart also has a margin of 11dB, but the fiber attenuation at 1490nm is usually lower, so the length limit is set for the 1310nm wavelength. (Typical values of G.652c fiber attenuation 1310nm 0.32dB/km; 1490 0.21dB/km; 1550nm 0.19dB/km). The recommended range also includes the expected attenuation at the connectors and a margin for installation errors. This is not a fixed limit, the user can go far beyond it.
For connection between WDM modules, it is necessary to combine the TX/RX wavelengths of the counterpart sides, pairs of modules are distinguished by a code representing side A or B.
