PLANET GTP-805A
IEEE 802.3at PoE injector and Gigabit Ethernet optical converter, 10/100/1000Base-T switch - miniGBIC (SFP), full duplex, 1k MAC addresses.
The device is not only a converter between transmission media, but also serves as a PoE injector, integrating three basic functions:
- conversion of transmission media according to miniGBIC module to 10/100/1000Base-T
- Power over Ethernet injector with support for IEEE 802.3at / IEEE 802.3af standards
- 30W injector output power
The network element is an ideal choice for service providers, for office and corporate premises, or for expanding the network structure with Wi-Fi technology, whose access points can be powered directly using converters. The use of GTP-80x converters is directly recommended for the implementation and installation of IP camera systems, including cameras powered by PoE.
The IEEE 802.3at standard included in the GTP-80x uses 52 V DC in the Ethernet cabling, which allows the use of classic Ethernet UTP cabling between the GTP-80x and an IEEE 802.3at compatible device (PD-Powered Device) or a PoE splitter (e.g. POE-161S). The maximum distance for using PoE power over an Ethernet cable is up to 100 m.
The converter technology uses a "store-forward" mechanism, which should actively prevent transmission losses using IEEE 802.3x. The LFP (Link Fault Pass Through function) function can alert the network admin to a device failure, the alarm function can be controlled with a DIP switch.
