Professional LTO-7 Ultrium data cartridge for long-term data storage and backup with a capacity of up to 15 TB.

The HPE LTO-7 Ultrium data cartridge offers a capacity of 6 TB natively and up to 15 TB with 2.5:1 compression . It uses advanced Barium Ferrite magnetic material with a recording density of 485 kbits/inch and contains 3584 data tracks . The 960 m long and 5.6 µm thick tape provides reliable data storage for demanding backup operations.

The cartridge is designed for long-term archiving with a lifespan of 30 years under recommended storage conditions. It supports hardware data encryption at the tape drive level with FIPS140-2 Level 1 certification for increased security. Compatible with all certified LTO-7 Ultrium drives and libraries, including backward compatibility for reading and writing on LTO-6 drives.

Compatibility and use
The cartridge is fully compatible with all certified LTO-7 Ultrium drives and automated libraries. LTO-7 drives support reading and writing on both LTO-7 and LTO-6 cartridges and reading only on LTO-5 cartridges. The open LTO Ultrium standard ensures interoperability between different tape device manufacturers.

Operating conditions
Recommended operating environment: temperature +10 to +45 °C, relative humidity 20 to 80%. For long-term archiving, storage at a temperature of +5 to +23 °C and relative humidity of 20 to 50% is recommended to maintain a 30-year media life.

All HPE LTO Ultrium cartridges undergo rigorous quality testing that exceeds the standard requirements for the LTO Ultrium logo, including drop testing, stress testing, and archival simulation to ensure maximum reliability.
