Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Victron Energy MPPT solar controllers are among the absolute world leaders in this field and offer ultra-fast MPPT tracking. Especially under cloudy skies with continuously changing irradiance, thanks to this controller, solar gains are 30% higher compared to classic PWM controllers or 10% higher compared to slow MPPT controllers.

The maximum permitted panel power for 12 V systems is 220 Wp and for 24 V systems 440 Wp. If these values are exceeded, the controller automatically reduces the incoming power from the panels to acceptable values, so that excess power does not damage the controller. The solar controller is factory-preset for eight types of batteries, the selection of the appropriate type is done using a rotary switch located on the controller body .
The maximum open circuit voltage (referred to as Voc) of the connected solar panels must not exceed 75 V. Caution! The voltage of the solar panels increases as the outside temperature drops. The maximum input short circuit current of the PV panels must not exceed 15 A, otherwise permanent damage may occur.

Download the free VictronConnect mobile app for iOS or Android. If you want to do the above using a PC, you can use the VE.direct to USB cable to connect the controller to the PC. Simply install the Victron Connect program on your computer.
The internal electronic components are protected by a resin coating against adverse effects and for a long service life. It offers increased resistance to IP43 for electronic components and IP22 for connection connectors. Designed for vertical position on a non-flammable surface, with wiring from below. The controller contains an internal temperature sensor for appropriate adjustment of the charging voltage. Automatic detection of system voltage 12/24 V.
Adaptive three-stage charging:
1. Bulk charging, 2. Absorption charging and 3. Float charging. Initially, a high current and lower voltage are generated during a fast charge to quickly recharge a discharged battery. This phase is followed by a constant voltage with decreasing current to fully charge the battery without dangerous overcharging that reduces battery life. The charged battery is maintained in a charged state by a very low current and low voltage. If the If the battery voltage drops below 13.2 V, for example due to a load, a new charging cycle is started.
The voltage from the panels must exceed the battery voltage by 5 V for the controller to start working and charging the battery. The controller charges until the voltage from the panels is 1 V higher than the battery voltage. For a 12 V battery, we recommend panels with a minimum number of 32 cells and a maximum number of 108 cells (panels in series). It is therefore possible to charge a 12 V battery and panels with an operating voltage of 24 V. For 24 V systems, we recommend panels with a minimum number of 72 cells and a maximum number of 108 cells. The purpose is to achieve sufficient voltage for efficient and full charging of the battery.
This more powerful series of solar controllers is not equipped with a DC output. To connect a DC load to the battery, we recommend using a "BP Battery Protection" with a maximum load current of up to 220 A.
Warning: Victron Energy MPPT controllers are not permitted to be used in combination with photovoltaic panel optimizers. When used, damage to both MPPT controllers and optimizers may occur and this damage may not be recognized as a valid complaint.
