Media converter designed to convert media from 100BASE-FX optical line to 100Base-TX metallic line and vice versa . The converter was designed according to IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards, and is intended for use with single-mode optical cable with SC connector. It supports the long-wave laser (LX) specification at maximum packet forwarding speed. It uses the 1310 nm wavelength for both receiving and sending data.

Other features of this module include the ability to be used as a standalone device (no chassis required) or with a TP-LINK 19' chassis, auto-detection of MDI/MDI-X for the TX port, auto-negotiation of duplex mode on the TX port, and status LEDs on the front panel. The MC110CS supports data transmission over single-mode fiber optic cable up to 20 km.
